Solomon's Song of Songs was my inspiration for this three painting series. The love the Beloved had for his confident Bride could not be changed by any person.

The Bride Speaks:

"My beloved is mine, and I am his; He pastures his flock among the lilies. Until the cool of the day when the shadows flee away, Turn, my beloved, and be like a gazelle Or a young stag on the mountains of Bether."

The Song of Solomon 2:16-17

"His cheeks are like a bed of balsam, Banks of sweet-scented herbs; His lips are lilies Dripping with liquid myrrh."

The Song of Solomon 5:13

Her Beloved Speaks to Her:

"How beautiful are your feet in sandals, O prince's daughter! The curves of your hips are like jewels, The work of the hands of an artist."

The Song of Solomon 7:1
